Welcome to the LCD-Composer server!

LCD-Composer is a simple, flexible, and efficient method for identifying low-complexity domains (LCDs) in whole proteomes. Use the "ANALYSIS" tab to get started.

The LCD-Composer server offers five main options for your LCD analyses:

1) Set minimum composition thresholds for your amino acids of interest to identify LCDs in your favorite organism that exceed these thresholds.
2) Copy and paste your favorite LCD sequence to search for other LCDs with similar compositional features.
3) Search for LCDs within your favorite protein sequence using the customizable LCD search parameters.
4) Perform statistical tests to see if specific types of LCDs are significantly enriched among your favorite set of proteins.
5) Automatically compare LCD search results to specifically identify proteins that contain multiple LCDs.

If you plan to conduct a large number of LCD searches (i.e. searching for many different types of LCDs in a single proteome or searching for LCDs in many different proteomes), please use our open source command-line scripts found at the LCD-Composer Github page.

You can learn more about LCD-Composer in the "HELP" tab, in the LCD-Composer webserver paper, or in the original LCD-Composer paper.
